When your babies are sickly....

This week is going really fast to me. Is it to anyone else? I had a totally different post planned for today but I am putting that on hold until tomorrow. Right now our oldest son Brayden, is not feeling 100%. He needs his momma to baby him and I am not going to fight him on that one! :) I LOVE to baby my kiddos and I know I won't get to much longer with him. I mean he is going to be 9 in April! HA HA

Yesterday I posted a status on my personal FB page about getting a text from Brayden's teacher. As you all know her and I are really close friends and she is 9 months pregnant. It is not unusual to get a text from her during the day. I figured it would be some random thought or that her water broke! She told me that Brayden was complaining of his eyes hurting. This was the second time within the last couple of months that he has complained to her about his eyes. Brayden is not a complainer when he doesn't feel well anyhow and if you have been following for awhile you will remember he was suppose to have surgery on his eyes when we lived in Houston. Needless to say I cancelled that surgery since we moved and I had reservations about it anyway but if you need a refresher or to catch up you can read about it here. Also if any of you have had this done or know of someone who has had this done please message me I'd love to know more about it. With all of that being said I knew we needed to go to the Opthamologist here in Tulsa but I put that to the side for a bit so we could get settled. I mean there is just so much you can throw at a kid at one time. I called yesterday morning and got him in with a Pediatric Opthamologist and surprisingly they are getting him in on Monday.

When I picked him up from school you could see in his little eyes he wasn't feeling the best. Once he got home from school yesterday I gave him Tylenol. Last night for supper I was going to make Beef Stroganoff well needless to say I didn't feel like cooking so Todd took us out to eat. Brayden ate pretty well but still said his head hurt. Once we got home from supper and the kids had their baths Todd ran and got some Advil and Brayden laid on my lap. I rubbed his head for over 30 minutes trying to ease his pain for him. I felt so bad because I wanted to take his pain away and have the headache for him. I don't want my babies to ever hurt. Todd and I went to tuck him in and all three of our dogs jumped up in bed with him and laid with him. (He has been sleeping in the room my parents stay in when they are here to visit. I think he likes the bigger bed and the room smells like my dads cologne too.) Carson our Chocolate lab ended up staying in bed with him until Brayden was in a good deep sleep. It was really cute because Carson was laying his head up on the pillow right next to Brayden almost spooning him.

Todd woke up this morning and found that Brayden has moved himself to the couch. He told Todd that he was going to come and lay with us but Todd was snoring way to loud. HA HA He told me he didn't want the dogs to be alone and he got hot. Needless to say I think he still has a touch of his headache and I am starting to think it may also be a sinus headache too. There is no doubt that his eyes hurt because he is always rubbing them. Hopefully today will be a better day for him but I am off to go give some extra loves to him and baby him before we leave for school. Maybe the extra lovins from momma will fix his little headache and make him have a wonderful day! ;)

Have a happy hump day y'all!

Meal Planning

Hey friends! Last week I told you that I went grocery shopping and meal planned for two weeks. Last week went really well and to be honest I really had it together and didn't need to run to the store but one time. That one time was for some milk and then some chicken broth that I thought I grabbed. I also asked my husband to pick up some corn bread because last minute I thought it would be good with the Creole Sausage w/ red beans and rice BUT he was in a hurry at the Piggly Wiggly and accidently grabbed the Blueberry muffin mix. Can we say ooppss? HA HA

Sunday-Creole sausage w/red beans and rice

Monday-Leftover creole sausage with red beans and rice

Tuesday-Beef Stroganoff

Wednesday-Cheesy Chicken Enchilladas

Thursday-leftovers

Friday-Pizza

Saturday-kitchen closed going out to eat

I also noticed that by me doing our meal planning two weeks in advance I ended up saving us half of what I normally spend each week going to the store. When I did go to the store I also picked up lunch items for Brayden since he takes his lunch daily to school. There were also snacks added in there for Gannon and lunches for him here at home and I still saved money. I did cut some coupons but it was nothing like what you see on TLC Extreme Couponers. I just shopped smart and looked for the best deals for the price.

Do you meal plan? If so how far in advance do you meal plan?

Wild Weekend Recap

I am linking up with Sami for Weekend Recap. I am also linking up with Logan and for the blog hop too! I hope everyone had a great weekend. We did, it was so wild, I mean how wild can you get with an 8 year old and a 2 year old. You know bars out til 3 in the morning and everything! HA HA Just kidding y'all BUT we did have a fantastic spending times as a family! I feel like I've got picture overload this weekend so let's get to it shall we?

Friday I ended up making pizza cupcakes for supper then once the kids had a bath we watched the movie Brave as a family. Of course no movie is complete without making some popcorn. Gannon was doing well watching it for a good 30 minutes then he got bored. Him and I decided to color and then he dedided he needed some transformers tattoos on him. He also decided just one was not enough so of course he got five put on him!

Saturday I woke up in a sillier mood more than usual. On the weekends Todd makes breakast so he made chocolate chip pancakes for Saturday. While he was doing that I decided to take a selfie and I sent it to Lacey and my friend Katie. I know we are all meant to be friends because Lacey sent me a crazy selfie of herself in the same shape I was in. Then Katie sent me a selfie while her hair was still up in a towel and not yet fully made up! See meant to be friends! I love that they just go with my antics and don't question me about it!

A few hours later after getting myself all dolled up and looking a heck of a lot cuter I went to Katie's baby shower. Her shower was so adorable and I was really excited to go. This was my first event to go to here in Oklahoma. It was decorated so pretty yet simple. Katie was surrounded by people that really loved her and cared about her and it totally showed. The momma to be looked pretty adorable if I do say so myself. The cake she had there was so good and moist. I took two pictures with my Iphone but they didn't turn out the greatest because I took it inbetween two people. So I took the picture of her from her facebook page! HA HA

Saturday night Todd ran and got us our free Panda Express that we had coming to us. Once we ate supper the kids took a bubble bath. They were in the tub for the longest time. It was fun to watch them play and have a good time. The bubbles about took over!

Sunday was another pretty day here in Okie so we went outside and played for the longest time. The kids jumped on the trampoline, chased the dogs, played with their toy guns, and rode on their bikes. The dogs were so tired once we were done playing outside. Todd and Gannon kept throwing the ball for them to run and get. I had fun getting my camera out and taking pictures of everyone.

Once we came in Todd and the kids wanted me to make some of my chocolate chip cookies. Who am I to deny my boys the yummy goodness of momma's chocolate chip cookies! I whipped up a batch real fast for them, they must have been listening really closely to the oven going off because it wasn't no time and they were in the kitchen wanting a cookie!

Once the cookies were made I decided to go ahead and make supper. I guess I was channeling my inner NOLA because I made creole sausage w/red beans and rice.

Lastly can we talk about the Beyonce concert for the Superbowl? Can we say that girlfriend is just totally amazing! She is so pretty and the girl can sing. I loved that she did actually sing the entire time and she totally put on an awesome show. I also loved the fact that Destiny's Child reunited for the night. I totally stopped what I was doing and watched the entire thing and I was wanting it to last longer and longer. It really drew me in. I also loved her outfit. She really rocked the entire thing!

So tell me how exciting was your weekend??

Sunday Social

I am linking up with Neely today for Sunday Social. I hope you enjoy my answers and join in on the fun! I look forward to hearing your comments on my answers! Be sure to come back tomorrow for a recap of my wild wild weekend!

1. If you were stuck on an island what are the two material items you would want to have? I would want to have toilet paper and sunscreen. I wouldn't want to go looking for random tree leaves to look for something to use once done peeing and then I'd totally want my skin to look cute. I don't want to look like that leather mom from Jersey that let her kid tan!

2. What are two TV shows you’d watch over and over? Hart of Dixie and any Real Housewives show!

3. If your house was on fire what two things aside from family, pets, etc would you grab? My mamaw's jewlery armoire she gave me and my computer since it has most of my pictures stored on it.

4. What are your two most favorite articles of clothing? All of my boots...I'm a boot whore! HA HA

5. What two movies that you saw in the past year would you recommend to us? I am lame and don't go spend a tons of money at the movies. I wait til they come out and watch them on video and half the time I forget because I am always knee deep in some kind of cartoon such at Team Umizoomi or Pocoyo! Be jealous y'all be jealous! HA HA

6. What are your two biggest guilty pleasures? Reality TV and my  Large Diet Cherry Soda from Sonic I get during the week. Sometimes if I am feeling a bit wild I will spring for two squirts of cherry flavoring instead of one. I live on the wild side! Funny story: Since I go to Sonic every morning the girls know me and we teased around Christmas time that I should get invited to their holiday party. Their party was pizza one morning and my waitress gal told me that I told her they should have called me I'd never pass up on some pizza! :)

A Few Happenings

Hey friends! I am so happy it is the almost the weekend! I have had the hardest time this week waking up. I am not a morning person in the first place but maybe because it was warm then cold it has made it even harder. Anyway I thought I would tell y'all what has been going on around our neck of the woods this week! First fun fact I think I've told y'all that I used to be a gymnast. I actually competed in the Superdome where the Super Bowl is being held. It was fun and I miss it! I was looking for a picture of it but I belive it is at my parents house and not with me!

Gannon is going to be 2.5 this month and I will admit he is spoiled rotten and I normally cave and give him his way. Maybe because he is the youngest and I don't know if we are going to have anymore kids. Anyway a couple of weeks ago I started with the timeouts. In one day he had to go to timeout twice for the exact same thing. He was throwing a major fit and when I tried to talk to him he came over and hit, needless to say the hitting got him in timeout. He was doing really good until this week, he got mad at Todd and hit Todd so I told him where to put Gannon in time out. If you follow me on instagram (@linsw00) you would have seen this picture. This is really cute and it is poor quality because it was taken with my ipad but I couldn't pass it up!

Yesterday I was looking in Brayden's school bag and noticed this picture. I asked him about it and the boys face turned so red and got a huge smile on his face and then kind of tried to hide his face a little. I was getting his folder out of his bag and saw another piece of paper and that one said "Happy Valentine" and then it had a bunch of hearts. I asked him about that one and said it's from the same girl mom. Todd was home at that time and we both just looked at each other and smiled. It was very cute.

Last week my doctor told me I could start weening myself off from the boot, I am happy to say I was finally able to get into a tennis shoe yesterday! It is a little tight by my baby toe but hey I was still able to get in it. I am going back to the doctor today for her to look at a spot on the bottom of my foot. We think my body is not liking the internal stitches that she used so we are checking it out to be safe than sorry.

What are your weekend plans?

P.S. Please go here and enter this awesome giveaway! It is my friend Lacey's blogiversary!
